Martha Outerbridge was an early or significant Bermudan.

Martha Outerbridge was the daughter of Stephen Outerbridge and Mary Tucker.^[1]

Her father Stephen’s will was registered 22 Jul 1758 in Hamilton Parish, Bermuda. It mentions wife Mary, and children Daniel, Jane Place, Martha North, Mary Paynter, Hubbard (and his son Stephen), and daughter in law Susannah Outerbridge. Executors were wife Mary, son Daniel, and Jonathan Burch. Witnesses were Joshua Newman, Richard Ball, and John Paynter. It was proved 23 Dec 1761.^[1]

Her husband Joseph’s will was registered 22 Feb 1742 (1743 modern calendar) in Hamilton Parish, Bermuda. It mentions his wife Martha and an unnamed child under 18. Executors were his wife Martha and (her father) Stephen Outerbridge. Witnesses were (her brother) Hubbard Outerbridge, John Outerbridge, and William Peniston. The will was proved 13 Sep 1758, and his wife Martha attested to inventory 23 Oct 1758.^[2]

Martha later married John Colson. John’s will was registered 5 Dec 1778 and proved 8 Jul 1779 in St George’s Parish, Bermuda. It names his wife Martha and her daughter Mary Knott Outerbridge. It also names his children Stephen and Rhoda.^[3]
