Biography
William Oldershaw was born around 1827, the son of Elizabeth Oldershaw (nee Dixon) and William Oldershaw.[1]
He was married to Ann Anderson.[2] Their son William James Norman Oldershaw (1856–?) was born in Emerald Hill, Victoria, Australia.[3]
Ann died in 1872.[2]
William remarried on 19 April 1883 at Zetland Villa, Flemington, Victoria, to Jane Elizabeth Colclough.[4][5]
William died on Christmas day, 25 December, 1907 at his home on Kent Street in Flemington.[6]
Research notes
- Guessed England as place of birth because his wedding notice to Jane Colclough states 'formerly of Castle Donington, near Derby, England'.
- Various articles about his will in 1930 give his death date as 24 December 1907.[7][8]
