Biography

Born on November 22, 1847, in the heart of Panola County, Mississippi, Samuel Lemuel O'Steen's life unfolded against the backdrop of hard work, family, and unforeseen tragedy. His parents, Harvey O'Steen and Elizabeth True, laid the foundation for his journey, instilling values that would guide him through the twists and turns of life.

In the year 1850, young Samuel's presence graced Tunica County, Mississippi. These early years in his birthplace were marked by the simplicity of childhood and the shaping influence of his surroundings.

By the time 1860 rolled around, Samuel had found a home near the Greensboro post office in Powell, Craighead County, Arkansas. The landscapes of his new environment were witness to his growth from youth to young adulthood.

On July 13, 1876, Samuel Lemuel O'Steen embraced a new chapter by marrying Sarah Jane Lloyd in Arkansas. This union marked the beginning of a partnership that would define the coming years of his life.

In the year 1880, Samuel and his growing family called St. Francis Township, Greene County, Arkansas, their home. Here, he worked tirelessly as a farmer to provide for his loved ones, embodying the spirit of dedication that characterized his life.

The year 1900 found Samuel still in St. Francis Township, Greene County, Arkansas, continuing his role as a farmer. His labor was a testament to his unwavering commitment to his family's wellbeing.

Tragedy struck with a devastating blow on November 22, 1902, the very day of his birth. In an attempt to extinguish a barn fire, Samuel Lemuel O'Steen lost his life in Greene County, Arkansas.
