I am a fan of the free sites like Wikitree.com, Findagrave.com and FamilySearch.com. Not sure where we would be without the LDS church (no I am not a member).
I do have an account with MyHeritage.com but so far have been reluctant to sign up to Ancestry.com or Newspaper.com because anything I find there can only be seen by a limited number of people, and I really like to share with everyone.
I would like to welcome EVERYONE to join Wikitree.com!!
Kelly has worked on and off on genealogy for 30+ years. Used RootsWeb initially. He got away from it when privacy concerns and identity theft became issues. Kelly considers "sharing" the most important thing about genealogy, helping others understand the past through their ancestors.
Kelly grew up in Southern California and went to several colleges before finally getting a M.S. degree in Computing Science at the U.C. Davis Extension Campus at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) in Livermore, California.
Kelly worked many jobs in his life, but after getting his M.S. he worked at LLNL for 10 years in the Computer Graphics and Computer Languages groups. Then went to a startup Supercomputer Systems Inc. (SSI) for 5 years. He specialized in language parser generation and debugging software, writing multiple C language compilers. He was an alternate for the first ANSI standardization meetings for the C programming language. After SSI he went to Sun Microsystems and was there for 17 years working in the DBX (debugger) group and the JAVA organization. Oracle bought Sun and Kelly stayed at Oracle for 3 years doing JAVA work and getting involved in Continuous Build and Test Systems and Source Code Management Software. Kelly's last job was at Workday in Pleasanton, California where he continued his work on Continuous Integration and Build systems and more with Source Code Management Software. Kelly retired from Workday after 6 years.
Kelly is familiar with many computer languages and operating systems.

I have just started getting into genealogy, and have been scanning some of my mother's old photos. Her name was June Reum (Wetmore). So, I was very interested in the post that you made on Carrie, Mildred, and Myrta Wetmore. I happen to have a photo of Carrie and her brother Alton taken around WWI (He's got his uniform on.) Are you interested in getting a copy?
Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz. As Pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, working within a project is essential
Please ensure a location is entered on all profiles and data matches dates of profile. Avoid abbreviations as these can mean different things or location around the world, add sources with citations & links for sources to support the data. From wiki ID go to Research to find sources
The United States Project would be of interest. Adding the tag UNITED_STATES will connect you Follow this link for your Tags: your tags
Explore Pre-1700 Projects list to find one that fits your research focus. I would suggest you take a look at the IRELAND project

I have been in email contact with Charla, 20 years ago I was in email contact with her mother too, so she is carrying on her mothers work. ;)

I just added you to Addie Zolman's profile. Feel free to edit as you wish. Let me know if you want to be added as a manager as well. Only managers can change LNABs. If you have adequate sources for a change in her LNAB, then we should definitely change it.
And let me know if you want to be added to any other O'Hair profiles.
thanks! Emma :-)
I just wanted to check in and see how things are going. Do you have any questions I can answer?
We want to help! Click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page or send me a private message.

PS To find reliable sources for your profiles, go to the Family Tree & Tools tab; select Genealogy Research and scroll down near the bottom of that list and select Research with RootsSearch. There are over 20 websites to access from there.
Since you've been with WikiTree for a week or so, I wanted to check in and see how you were doing. The New Member How-To's are available for you to look through if you would like. I hope you find them helpful. If you have any questions about how WikiTree works, don't hesitate to ask. Click on my name above and ask in the comment section of my page. Sylvia ~ WikiTree Messenger
Welcome to WikiTree! I have added you as manager to your grandfather's profile. Let me know if you want access to any of our shared ancestors up the line. This is actually my sons' family (their dad), but I do all the research and management. Emma :-)
A warm welcome to WikiTree. You are now a full member and can add your family to the big tree!
Click here to start with our New Member How-To Pages. They will save you time, energy and frustration as you add your family profiles.
Hope you enjoy WikiTree as much as I have. You never know when you will find a lost family member or ancestor. Or maybe find a hidden family secret about an ancestor. Genealogy to me is like being a detective looking for clues into the past.
Sometimes links don't work in emails. If that's happened to you, check the public comments on your profile as the links will work from there.
Please let me know if you have any questions. I'm always happy to help!
