Mary Isabel Catherine O'Brien (better known as Dusty Springfield) was born in London, England on 16 Apr 1939 to Gerard Anthony Joseph O'Brien and Catherine Anne Ryle. Her birth was registered at Hampstead in the second quarter.[1]
Dusty was one of the top-selling UK vocalists of the 1960s. Her songs included Son of a Preacher Man. She was awarded the Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (designation: OBE). Dusty was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame two weeks after her death.
She passed away at her home in Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire on 2 Mar 1999, after a battle with breast cancer. Her death was registered at Henley in the first quarter.[2] Dusty never married.[3]
Dusty is buried at St. Mary the Virgin Churchyard in Henley-on-Thames.[4]
She was honored in a Google Doodle on November 8, 2022, entitled "Celebrating Dusty Springfield." [5]

Dusty wouldn't have been born in London Borough of Camden, Greater London that didn't exist until 1965. Her birth place would have been the Metropolitan Borough of Hampstead, County of London, though I suppose West Hampstead, London would be less of a mouthful.
