In the 1870 census W (age 4 months), At Home, was in San Marcos, Hays, Texas.[1]
In the 1880 census Stepna (age 9) was the brother of Richard Cheatham in Precinct 1, Hays, Texas. Richard was likely his half brother.[2]
Step married Hattie Thompson on 19 December 1906 in McLennan, Texas.[3]
Stepney died on 21 May 1914 in McLennan County, Texas and was buried in First Street Cemetery, Waco, McLennan County, Texas.[4][5]
