Biography

Florinda T. Norton was the daughter of Charles Norton and Mary (Leach) Norton of Livermore, Maine,^[1] with whom she was living at Livermore in 1850 at the age of 11 ^[2] and in 1860 at the age of 21, when she was called a common school teacher..^[3] The 1900 Census says she was born in July 1839^[4]

Florinda Norton, retired teacher, died from chronic valcular heart disease at East Livermore, Maine, on 11 Jul 1917, with her age at her death recorded as 78.^[5] her gravestone at the North Livermore Cemeterty has no dates but says that she was 79 when she died.^[6]
