Biography

Margaret was born in 1882. She was the daughter of John Nolan and Kate Pattinson. She passed away in 1973.

• from family research, I knew Aunty Maggie, who lived in a house behind my dear Aunty Mary Thompson nee Grant in Bendigo. Aunty Ella also lived in next street behind them.

Aunty Maggie was Baptised at St Bernard's Catholic Church in Bacchus Marsh, Victoria on 22 Oct 1882. Her Godparents were Margaret & John Pattinson (aunt & uncle). Robert Halliday Grant was the son of Peter Grant and Elizabeth Anthony Muir of Myrniong, and the brother of Agnes Lawson Grant who had married Thomas Pattinson in 1896. Robert was also known as Bob and Margaret known as Maggie, they married in 1906 at St Bernard's Catholic Church, Bacchus Marsh, Victoria. They lived in Myrniong, 1909, Riddells Creek 1914, Pootilla near Ballarat 1919, Cohuna 1931, Yarraberb near Bridgewater 1943 and Bendigo 1954, as per Electoral Rolls. They are both buried together at Greendale, Victoria.
