Biography

William was born about 1786.
He married Mary Knubley (or Humbley) in 1816 in Isel, who was born about 1773 in Holme Cultram, Cumberland.
They had a daughter Isabella, who married a Robinson, who had Thomas and Jane.
Isabella was born about 1820 at Isell, Cumberland, per her 1851 census.
Thomas and Jane Robinson were born about 1849 and 1851 (resp'ly) in Clifton, Cumberland.
They had a grandson named Thomas Nixon born about 1840 in Wigton, who may have been Isabella's son.
William Nixon passed away after 1851.

Research Notes

Since William's firstborn child was named Jane, she may have been named after William's mother, which means that William might be the son of Joseph and Jane, baptized 19 Dec 1790 at Distington, Cumberland:

Alternatively, William might be the son of Henry and Jane, baptized 3 Jan 1790 at Workington:

Alternatively, he might be the son of Adam and "Jenny" baptized 28 April 1784 at Bewcastle, which might also explain the 2nd daughter's name, Isabella, as this Adam probably had close relative named Isabella (as both of those names "ran in" the same Nixon families which used "Adam"):

There was a William Nixon, son of Thomas and JANE, baptized at Caldbeck on 7 Sep 1788:

Note that distances from Westward to: Workington = 22 miles
Bewcastle = about 30 miles
Distington = 25 miles Caldbeck = 5 miles 1841 residence, Wigton = about 3 miles 1851 residence, Little Clifton = 20 miles... but Little Clifton is very near both Distington and Workington.

The Thomas Nixon and Jane, above, appears to be Jane Millican, who married Thomas Nixon at Carlisle on 4 Oct 1790 (also June 1790, Banns?). Carlisle is about 13 miles from Westward, but Old Carlisle is... about 1.4 miles (2.24km).
