Biography
Sveno Nicolai (probably named Sven Nilsson before being a priest) was born in 1540 in Stora Väcklinge, Reftele, Jönköping, Sverige, son of Nicolaus Petri (<1530 - ).
Sveno married Cecilia Nicolai (~1558 - ~1603) in 1579 in Torsås, Kalmar, Sweden. Their children were:
- Laurentius (Nicolai) Svenonis Segerstadius (1570 - 1638)
- Lars (Nicolai) Svensson (~1580 - )
- Lars Svensson (1580 - )
- Sigrid Svensdotter (~1590 - ~1623).
Sveno died in 1603 in Segerstad, Kalmar aged ~63.
Research Notes
Several places write about a Sveno Nicolai being priest in Torsås and that he died in Torsås 1604, not Segerstad 1603. Can be two different priests named Sven Nilsson latinized the name to Sveno Nicolai.
