Biography

Kezia Newman (married name Twelftree) was born on 22 September 1824 in Thrapston, Northamptonshire, England, the daughter of Hannah (Guess) Newman and William Newman.^[1]

She was baptised on 17 October 1824 in Thrapston. ^[2]

She emigrated to South Australia with her family on the Templar, arriving at Port Adelaide on 24 Nov 1845. ^[3]

She married Spencer Twelftree on 15 August 1847 at the Congregational Chapel in Adelaide, South Australia. ^[4] Their children were:

• Susanna Twelftree (1852–1919)
• John Charles Twelftree (1853–1933)
• Spencer Twelftree (1855–1880)

Kezia died on 26 October 1888 in Smithfield, South Australia.^[5] His remains were buried in Uley Baptist Church Cemetery.^[6]
