William was born in about 1814 (he was 52 at death in 1866) at an unknown location.

In 1843 William, at his marriage, was a Drum major 13th Regt N.I.

William, widower & of age, (Drum Major 13th Regt N I), married Amelia Nugent, minor, both of Rajahmundry, on 7 September 1843 in Madras. Groom father Jno Newberry, bride father Wm Nugent. Witnesses Thos Buckley, A Boward, H Boward, K Stephenson.^[1]

William died on 5 August 1866 and was buried on 6 August 1866 in Bellary, Madras.^[2]
