  • I received the following note but have little time to follow-up: I did respond to her privately.
  1. Consider checking city directories and the Joiner genealogy center in Sycamore, IL for dairies.
  2. [Wendell-374]: I was born in DeKalb to parents that lived in Malta. My great aunt lived in Malta, my paternal grandfather was a dairyman, butter maker in DeKalb and lived on S 10th during this time. I do know that there are still older Henn family living in DeKalb, who may be able to provide some history. They had information on my parent's marriage that I would never have known if I had not reached out to them several years ago. Christmas is a good time to reconnect .
  3. [Ann Anderson]: I did a google search tonight for my grandparents dairy in DeKalb, IL. It was named, Magnus Nelson Dairy, DeKalb, IL. Located at 617 S. 2nd. St, DeKalb, IL. I was searching to try to find out where the farm was, that they had the cows, and brought milk in to town to sell, from the barn behind the house. I have been to the property and seen my uncles initials in the cement their. Just always wondered where the farm was in the country, because we are farmers in Malta, IL . I have absolutely no idea where it was. I have asked different older people over the years, but have never gotten an answer. I have 3 glass milk bottles with the name on, so know it did exist. Any other information is appreciated. Thank you.
