Margaret married Matthew Phillips on 11 March 1853 in the parish of Dumbarton, Dunbartonshire.^[1]

The couple had two children born in Dumbarton:

1. Martha Wood Phillips (b 6 March 1855)^[2]
2. David Neil Phillips (b 19 March 1857).^[3]

Margaret died in Mar 1857 in Dumbarton aged 27, when her mother's maiden surname was given as "Wood".^[4]
