Biography
William Neale was born on 20 December 1834 at Windmill Hill in Launceston, Tasmania, Australia, the son of Elizabeth Neale (nee Savage) and Thomas Neale.[1][2]
He was christened on 2 February 1840 in Adelaide, South Australia.[3]
He married Maria Gibbs on 10 March 1858 at Trinity Church in Adelaide.[1] Their children were:

- George Wellford Neale (1860–1861)[1][2]
- Walter Gibbs Neale (1862–1926)[1][2]
- James Welford Neale (1864–1907)[1]
- Arthur Neale (1867–1946)[1][2]

- Elizabeth Neale (1871–1963)[1][2]
- Annie Jane Neale (1873–1961)[1][2]
- Maria Neale (1876–1965)[1][2]

- Emily Mary Neale (1886–1978)[1][2]
William died on 25 July 1914 in Houghton, South Australia.[2] His remains were interred at Houghton Cemetery.[2]
