Jeremiah Mullikin (James,3 James,2 James ), born January 30, 1722, married prior to October 10, 1747, Margaret Waters, daughter of Samuel and Jane Waters. He died sometime near January 20, 1789, as that is the date on which his Will was probated.
"In the Name of God, Amen, I, Jeremiah Mullikin, of Anne Arundel County being of sound and perfect mind and memory thanks be 1given to God for the same, do make and ordain this to be my last Will and Testament in manner and forin as follows:[1]
Viz. lmprimis my Will is that all my Debts and funeral Charges be paid and discharged.
Item. I give and bequeath to my son, Belt Mullikin his heirs and assigns forever the Plantation I now dwell on and all lands I possess, my Will and meaning is that my loving wife Margaret Mullikin shall hold one third part of the aforesaid mentioned Land during her Life.
Item. I give and bequeath unto my loving wife Margaret Mullikin one third part of my personal estates likewise three negroe boys named Will, Roger, and Charles, during her Life but my Will and meaning is that at the Decease of my Wife the three negroe boys shall go to my three grandsons as hereafter given.
Item. I give and bequeath unto my Grandson Jeremiah Mullikin one Negroe boy named Will after the decease of his Grandmother Margaret Mullikin and to his heirs and assigns forever.
Item. I give and bequeath unto my Grandson Jeremiah Worthington one Negroe boy named Roger after the decease of his Grandmother Margaret Mullikin and to his heirs and assigns forever.
Item. I give and bequeath unto my Grandson Jeremiah Brice Howard -one Negroe boy named Charles after the decease of ·his Grandmother Margaret Mullikin and to his heirs and assigns forever.
Item. I give and bequeath unto my daughter Ann Howard· the sum of twenty pounds Current money to be paid her at my decease by my Executor hereafter to be named. . .
Item. I give and bequeath unto my son Belt Mullikin and my daughters Margaret Worthington and Ann Howard all the remaining part of my personal estate that is not already given to be equally divided between them and their heirs and assigns forever.
Item. I do hereby constitute nominate and appoint my son Belt Mullikin Sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament Revoking Disannuling and making void all other Wills heretofore by me made.
In witness hereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my Seale this Nineteenth day of December 1787.
