Robert Walter 'Walt' was born in September 1898 in Bellevue, Iowa. He was the son of Ferdinand Mueller and Mary Meier. His father worked as a stone mason until he started farming. Walt grew up near Bellevue with several siblings and three cousins from Wisconsin.
Walt moved to Wyoming and met Maude Justine Morrow. They eloped and married on 15 July 1920 in Kimball, Nebraska. He lived in Albin and worked for Union Pacific Railroad and became their coal chute foreman. In 1946 they bought a ranch and vacational rental cabins along the North Platte River. In 1951 they moved to Hillsdale where they bought a farm. Walt was active in each community he lived in. Walter passed away in July 1977 in Hillsdale, Wyoming and was buried there in Cheyenne Memorial Gardens.
