Biography

Francis was born in 1855. Francis was the child of John Mudd and Margaret Weathers. Francis passed away in 1921. [1]

Page 9 and the 60th family is listed as John R. Mudd (36), wife Margaret (23) and children Francis (5) and John (10 mos.). John is listed as a master black smith a real estate valued at $1,200 and other property at $3,000. Also living with them are Henry Wiseheart (16) and apprentice blacksmith, Harrison White (20) and junior blacksmith and James E. Mudd (37), a wagon maker, who reports to have assets of $800. All report they were born in Kentucky.

1870 – Kentucky, Spencer County, Taylorsville,
Page shows Raymond Mudd (47), wife Margaret (36) and children Francis C. (14), James (8) and Edward (4). Raymond is a blacksmith with real estate valued at $2,500 and a personal estate of $400. Also living with them is Francis Pullin (21) a blacksmith, Lucy Nally (40), Jane Crutchfield (40) a black women listed as a domestic servant and her son John (4) and Charley Allen (16) a black man also listed as a blacksmith.

Page 3 shows James Bennett (29), wife Fannie M. (23) and children Cline (4), Walter (2) and Charles (6 mos.) living on a farm. All report they and their parents were born in Kentucky. Ed Bennett, perhaps his father, lives next door and runs a hotel. He is reported to be the livery business.

1900 – Kentucky, Spencer County, Taylorsville, District 82, 9 Jun 1900
Sheet 8A shows James A. Bennett (50), wife Fannie (44) and children Charles (20), Oma E. (18), Bessie (16), Edward R, (8), Edwin Clark (5) and M. Jennette (3) are living on the farm they own. The couple reports they have been married for 26 years and that 7 of their 9 children are still alive. All report they and their parents were born in Kentucky. James reports to be a farmer, while son Charles is a teamster. Living next door is James Mudd, Dollie Mudd and other cousins, all the children of her uncle, James Mudd.

1910 – Kentucky, Spencer County, District 128, 15 Apr 1910
Sheet 1B shows Jas. A. Bennett (56), wife Fannie (54) and children Eddie Ray (18), Clark (16) and Genett (13) living in the home they own on Main Street. The couple reports they have been married for 35 years and that 5 of their 9 children are still living. James is a store keeper.

1918 – Kentucky, Spencer County, 10 Aug 1918
Death record for James Albert Bennett shows he died on 10 Aug 1918 in Spencer County. He was born on 17 May 1849 in Kentucky. His father is listed as Edward Bennett and his mother as Elizabeth Clark, both of Kentucky. He reports he is the farming and lumber business. Cause of death is listed as angina pectonis? The informant is listed as Eddie Ray Bennett of Taylorsville. He was to be buried at Valley Cemetery.

Sheet4B shows Fannie C. Bennett (64) a widow, living with her children Eddie R. (28), Clark E. (25), Jennette (22) and daughter-in-law Hallie (26) and two grandsons Edward J. (4) and Charles W. (1). All report they and their parents were born in Kentucky. They own the home they live in on Main Street. Eddie and Clark are merchants and own a store.

1921 – Kentucky, Spencer County, Taylorsville, 7 Jul 1921
The Kentucky death record for Francis Catherine Bennett shows the date of death as 7 Jul 1921 and her date of birth as 20 Jan 1855 in Kentucky. Her father is listed as Raymond Mudd and her mother as Margaret Weathers, both of Kentucky. The informant was E. C Bennett of Taylorsville. She was to be buried in Valley Cemetery. Cause of death is pancreatic cancer.
