English actress, model and member of the Mountbatten (formerly Battenberg) family. A cousin of Queen Elizabeth II and of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, she married thrice and settled in Toronto, Canada.
"Lady Iris Victoria Beatrice Grace Mountbatten was born in 1920. She was the daughter of Alexander of Battenberg and Lady Irene Frances Adza Denison.
"She was a great-granddaughter and the youngest great-grandchild of Queen Victoria and was first cousin to Prince Louis of Battenberg, later 1st Earl Mountbatten of Burma, who was assassinated by the IRA in 1979."
"On 29 January 1941 she received Royal Licence by King George VI to marry Captain (later Major) Hamilton Joseph Keyes O'Malley (after their engagement was formally announced in The Times on 18 January 1941). They married on 15 February 1941 (privately to satisfy the groom's faith) at St Paul's RC Church, Haywards Heath, West Sussex and were then married in the rites of the Church of England at St Mary's Church in Balcombe, West Sussex.
