Biography

William and Emma married 29 Sep 1897[1]in Northumberland, Pennsylvania.
He registered for the WWI draft on 18 Sep 1918[2] listing his occupation as a coal mine foreman for Lehigh Valley Coal.
Death Claims Wm H Motter, of Centralia
William H Motter, a highly respected resident of 533 north Troutwine street, Centralia, died at his home late yesterday afternoon. He had been ill since November.
Born in Dayton, Dauphin County, motter was a resident of Centralia for the past 40 years. He was married to Emma Jane Yeager, of Mount Carmel, on October 29, 1899. [note-- per marriage licence, marriage date was Oct 29, 1897]
A retired miner, his last place of employment was the Continental Colliery.
Motter was a member of the Odd Fellows' and the Good Shepherd's Society of Shamokin.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are the following daughters; Hazel Motter, RN, on the staff of the Geisinger Memorial Hospital; Mrs Gertrude Lauer, of Bellflower, California; Mrs Blanche Berger, Centralia; and Mrs Dorothy White, of Shamokin. He also leaves 10 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
A private funeral service will be held on Monday afternoon at the home with burial following in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Mount Carmel. Friends may call at the home beginning Saturday evening. [3]
He was 76 years of age[4] and is buried in the Mount Carmel Cemetery, Mount Carmel, Northumberland, Pennsylvania, United States of America[5]
