Biography

Pleasant Moss Jr is a part of US Black heritage.

Pleasant was born in 1909 in Richmond, Virginia. He was the son of Pleasant Moss and Martha McCargo. He was raised in Richmond, Virginia where his father worked on the railroad. He married Rosetta Harrison prior to 1940. In 1940 they were living in Richmond with no children. Pleasant was working at P. L. Farmers. Pleasant passed away in Richmond in 1975 and is buried in Oakwood Cemetery.

Research Notes

Pleasant's death certificate gives his year of birth as 1912, however this is clearly wrong based on his presence in the 1910 census. The 1909 date appears correct and is given in his WWII Draft Registration and is on his gravestone.
