He married Elizabeth and they had ten children that were living at the time his estate was going through probate: Jeremiah, Rebecca, Winnie, Marshall, Elizabeth, Mary Ann, William, Jemima and Delilah.
He died in 1851 in Marshall County, Alabama. He is buried at Forrest Home Methodist Church Cemetery in Boaz, Alabama.

File is 68 pages full. It names all children and their spouses in some detail and indicates the death occurred in 1851. He had also been a guardian for several children: Mary, Ethalinda, William and Elizabeth Thompson and Daniel Morton. Daniel was 15 on 1850 census.
