Biography
William Henry Morrison (né Guillaume Henri Morisseau) was born on 3 May 1855 in the historical county of Shefford in Quebec, Canada, either in Waterloo or Shefford Township, and was baptized on 28 June 1855 at Notre-Dame-de-Granby.[1][2][3] His father, Moses, was a farmer, and the family lived in a single-storied, single-family log house in his early childhood.[2]
William and his family immigrated to the US in 1864, when he was 9, where they settled in Illinois.[4] For unknown reasons, he was sent or voluntarily moved to Ridott, Stephenson, Illinois, where he lived and worked on the farm of William Hale.[5]
He married Jane Selina Webster on 29 November 1875 in Freeport, Stephenson, Illinois and ultimately had twelve children together. He moved the family to Monroe, Butler, Iowa in 1879-1880.[4][6]
At some point before 1890, they moved to Pocahontas County, Iowa.[7] In 1912-1913, William, Jane, and a few of their children moved to Pickford, Chippewa, Michigan.[4]
William passed away there on 21 December 1932 at the age of 77.[8] He is buried in Bethel Cemetery in Pickford.[9]
