Benjamin was born 11 June 1875. He was the son of Bernard Mora and Mary Flynn. [1]
On 11 June 1901 at Amberley, he married Kathleen Toohey. [2]
In October 1918 he enlisted for the First World War. He was a butcher of Akaroa with two children at this time. He was 5'9", brown hair, blue eyes, fair complexion. He does not seem to have seen any active service or even entered a camp; the war ended not long after his enlistment. [3]
He passed away 29 September 1958 and is buried at Bromley Cemetery. [4] [5] [6]
According to Ancestry Profile: #380103285820, his baptism sponsors were Benjamin Gabriel Guindon and wife, suggesting his middle name was meant to be Guindon. The birth registration "Guinason" I would guess is a transcription error by NZ BDM registry, unfamiliar with the French name.
However, in the military file he writes in his own hand Gandon so I have used that as the spelling for this profile.
