  • First-hand information. Entered by Tim Schaeffer at registration.

I am researching my paternal line of Moore. My father was born Lester Ronald Moore but adopted at 2 years of age. His father was Lester Orville Moore the son of William Dawson Moore and Rosilia Hembree. William was the son of George Washington Moore and Martha Ball. The YDNA test I took seems to be leading to North Carolina for the Moore line. I also took an autosomal DNA test which seems to be promising.

Hi Tim,

Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz!

Because pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, working within the projects which coordinate them is essential. You can learn about joining the community in How To #3 and in the Project FAQ.

Your contributions suggest that the German Roots Project may fit your research focus. If not, use the Pre-1700 Projects list to review other possibilities. Review the project page to learn how to collaborate with the project members.

Have questions? Click my name, then ask in the comments on my profile.

Hi Tim,

If you are just looking for information on your family, you don't need to Volunteer. You will find the People Search under FIND in the menus, upper right of this page. You can also ask questions in the G2G forum.

If you meant to Volunteer to help grow this wonderful collaborative Tree, please leave a note to that effect. We would love to have you!

Hello Tim,

I see you have uploaded your DNA for comparison. Did you know we have a project for DNA where a lot of great new things are happening?

If you are interested and would like to check it out, go to the FIND link top right of your profile page, select PROJECTS from the drop down box, and then select the link for the DNA project.

It has information listed that might be of interest to you, and feel free to contact any of the members if you would like additional details.
