Biography

William Emmett Moore was born in Franklin, Delaware County, New York, on 20 Feb 1828.^[1]

In 1855, William Emmett Moore, a 26 year old merchant b. Orange County, New York, lived with his brother, Hiram M. Moore, in E.D. 1, Barton, Tioga, New York.^[2]

In the settlement of the estate of Tusten Moore in 1866, who died intestate, son William E. Moore, along with his mother Amelia, siblings Charles V. Moore and Mary Ann Smith, and Tusten's grandchildren Fred Moore and William M. Moore, all received payments from the estate.^[3] (Son Hiram had died in 1864 leaving his widow, Frances and children Fred and William M. Moore.^[4])

He married Sarah Stone, the daughter of Luther and Mary Stone.

W. Emmett Moore died in 1915 and is buried at the Forest Home Cemetery, Waverly, Tioga County, New York^[5] with his wife Sarah E. Stone. They are memorialized on the same stone as his brother Hiram and his brother's family.
