In 1851, Thomas appears to be missing from the census records. However, as a canal boat man then it could be that he was recorded elsewhere in the country[2].
In 1861, the Moody family, including Thomas (aged 27) were likely moored up at the bottom of Aldams Road (see enumerators schedule) in an area called Lees Dock. Elizabeth's father, William Scholefield, was the head of the next but one household in the enumeration schedule.
He died in 1901. His body found on his canal boat having floated downstream.
Research Notes
Personal progress note. Can be deleted if I no longer manage. My direct ancestor. CC5. This is a bit of a holding profile as I more methodically add all the sources I have to each of my ancestors in turn. If you are interested in this person, please do message me as I can prioritise them and would also love to collaborate. Houseman-341 12:19, 1 June 2024 (UTC)
Although insufficient from a wikitree perspective, there is a fourth cousin DNA match, supported by paper trail, which could potentially be triangulated to prove a DNA connection with parents (see DNA tests under sources), although strength of connection could indicate a closer relationship not yet identified.
