Biography

Charles Brauer Mitchell, son of James Mitchell and Christiana Brauer, was born 12 Sep 1875 in Richmond, Virginia.^[1]

His grandson, Charlie, recalls that Charles worked for most of his career at Boze Lumber Company in Richmond.

At age 54, Charles and Eula resided with their children, Charlie (age 27) and Edith (age 19), in the home they owned at 1315 Mechanicsvile Turnpike in Richmond, Virginia, where he worked as a manager of a lumber yard and their son, Charlie, worked as a traveling salesman for hospital supplies.^[2]

Charles, after retiring as a lumber salesman, died of stomach cancer 29 Apr 1953, age 77, at St. Luke's Hospital in Richmond.^[3] He's buried in Oakwood Cemetery in Richmond,^[4] sharing a stone with his wife.^[5]
