Ann Puddephat Mitchel was born in 1787 in Abbots Langley, Hertfordshire, England, the daughter of Elizabeth. She married William Hawkins on November 22, 1810, in her hometown. They had at least 12 children in 20 years. She died in October 1874 in Watford, Hertfordshire, England, having lived a long life of 87 years.
