Thank you for your private message and the reference to your ancestors with the surname Lange. I followed your profile with link to Ancestry and looked at your family tree. In fact, your ancestors come from West Prussia and have no relation to my ancestors, who come from Northern Hesse. And of course, you can't find a Lange family in my tree yet, because I still have to enter them piece by piece. But you can see a part of the family on my private page. It is built with TNG (the next generation). see https://familie-hoppe.eu
Best regards Tom
Congratulations on certifying to work on pre-1700 profiles! It’s very important to read and understand the Pre-1700 Profiles page. These profiles for deep ancestors are shared by many, and collaborating on them works best if we all follow the guidelines in the certification quiz.
Primary sources should always be added to pre-1700 profiles at the time they are created. If you don't have a source for a pre-1700 profile, it would be best to ask for help in the G2G forum before creating the profile.
I know that I struggle with citing sources. My addition of my ancestor, Joseph Mink, was my first attempt at venturing beyond the 1700 threshold. I have many cited sources from both Ancestry™ and FamilySearch on Joseph. I have his parents, marriage date, spouse name and parents. Joseph is cited in the many church records of his children, as well as his marriage. Unfortunately, I do not have citations for his birth and death. After entering him with the citation of his son, Sebastian, baptism record, I quickly went back and added all the other citations that I had from Family Search. If this was not sufficient, then I apologize.
I was coach month ago that I should use a gedcom to load my tree. This however created a mess of the loaded citations and I have spent a lot of energy fixing the citations. So I was determined to add one person at a time, entering all the citations after the initial creation.
