Jacques Michel and his wife Jeanne Dupont are identified as the parents of Jacquette Michel, whose origin on her marriage in New France was stated as Ste-Catherine, île de Ré, évêché de La Rochelle (diocese). Jacques is listed as deceased [1]
Jacquette was born around 1636.[2]
Le 23 octobre 1668 à Notre-Dame de Québec, André Meigniér, fils de Michel Meignié et de Catherine Masson, de la paroisse de St-Martin de Ré, évêché de La Rochelle, épousa Jacquette Michel, veuve de défunt Jean Gardin, de la paroisse de Ste-Catherine de l'Île de Ré, en présence de Siméon Roy, François Paris, Jean Giron et Bernard Chapelain, le prêtre célébrant étant Henry de Bernières, curé de Québec.[3]
