Biography
Michael Mercadante was born on 18 Jan 1974 in Doylestown, PA, the son of Louis Mercadante and Debra Swartz. [1] He married Erica Marie Slade on 09 Jun 2007 at the First Korean United Methodist Church in Ambler, PA [2]. The marriage bore three children, Georgia Rose, Giovanni Danger and Sadie Grace. They separated in 2018 and were divorced in 2021.
Education
Michael attended kindergarten at McDonald Elementary, in the Centennial School District in Warminster, PA. For grades 1-3, he attended Nativity of our Lord School in Warminster, Pennsylvania (part of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia). Partway through grade 4, he transferred to public school, again attending McDonald Elementary through 6th grade. He attended Log College Junior High in Warminster, PA for grade 7.
Michael's parents moved from Warminster to Sellersville, PA following the end of his 7th grade year, and he attended Pennridge South Middle School for grade 8. He attended Pennridge High School for all four years, and graduated in May 1992.
Michael attended Bucks County Community College, Newtown, PA, from August 1992 through May 1993 as a Liberal Arts major. He then transferred to The College of Santa Fe, Santa Fe, NM, and attended there from August 1993 through May 1994. He was a Moving Image Arts major at this school. In the fall of 1994, he attended a third semester at Bucks County Community College, before dropping out of college in January, 1995.
Michael returned to college a little over a decade later, enrolling as a Psychology student at Temple University in the fall of 2005. In his first semester, he changed his major to History. He graduated cum laude with a BA degree in History in January, 2007 [3].
In the fall of 2012, Michael returned to school at Capella University, earning his MS in Psychology in 2015 [4]. He continued his graduate studies, earning his Ph.D candidate status in the fall of 2019. The global Covid pandemic interrupted his studies, and he was unable to complete his doctoral degree.
Marriage and Children
Michael met his future wife, Erica Marie Slade, at a diner in Montgomeryville, Pennsylvania, where she was working and he was a frequent patron. They formed a friendship and began dating in March, 2006. He proposed in June, 2008. As he was an atheist, her non-denominational Christian church would not marry them, and so they were married in a Korean methodist church in Ambler, PA on 09 Jun 2007. At the time of their marriage, he was 33 and she was 22. The couple separated in 2015 and were officially divorced 22 Nov 2021[5]. Their marriage bore three children:

- Sadie Grace, born 21 Apr 2014
