Ethel Callie Melugin was born on May 5, 1897 in Fannin Land District, Texas, United States.

Ethel (20) married Henry Arthur Denton (27) (born on January 24, 1890 in Texas; son of Joesph Daniel Denton and Mary Jane (Phillips) Denton) in 1918.

Their children were:

Joseph Council Denton (1918–1992)

Mary Maudine Denton (1921–2011)

Henry Arthur Denton Jr. (1923–1993)

In the 1900 census Ethel (age 3) was the daughter of Counsel S Melugin in Justice Precinct 2, Fannin, Texas, United States.^[1] Counsel S Melugin 24, wife Maud Melugin 22, daughter Ethel C Melugin 3, brother Martillus Melugin 18, brother Homer Melugin 15, brother Pascal Melugin 12.

In the 1920 census Ethill (age 22) was the wife of H A Denton in Savoy, Fannin, Texas, United States.^[2] H A Denton 26, wife Ethill Denton 22, son J C Denton 1.

In the 1930 census Ethel (age 33) was the wife of Henry A Denton in Savoy, Fannin, Texas, United States.^[3] Henry A Denton 38, wife Ethel Denton 33, son J C Denton 11, daughter Mary Denton 8, son Henry A Denton Jr. 6, daughter Malvin A Denton 4.

Ethel died on January 9, 1935 in Savoy, Fannin, Texas, aged 37. She was buried in Sunnyside Cemetery, Savoy, Texas.^[4][5]
