Biography

William was born about 1839.^[1][2]

He married Mary Ann Bayley on 27 March 1859 in the parish church of Prestbury, Cheshire.^[1] They had at least 10 children:

1. Thomas (1858)
2. Emma (1863-1954)
3. Mary Ann (1866)
4. Lucy (1868-1869)
5. Lucy (1870)
6. William (1872)
7. Sarah (1875)
8. Edith (1877-1935)
9. Arthur Edmund (1880-1972)

By the time of his marriage, William was working as a Stone Mason.^[1]

At the time of the 1861 Census, Willliam, Mary Ann and their 2 year old son, Thomas, were living at Congleton. ^[2]

They were still at Congleton in 1871, 1881, 1891 and 1901.^[3][4][5][6]

William passed away in 1901 and was buried at St Peter's, Congleton on 4 October that year.^[7][8]
