Comparing Kit A590119 (*Bud Barnes) [Migration - F2 - A] and Kit A362026 (*Annetta) [Migration - F2 - A]

Largest segment = 6.1 cM

Total Half-Match segments (HIR) 6.1cM (0.17 Pct) Estimated number of generations to MRCA = 7.6 On Chromosome 3 but have no idea what family line that is. Bud Barnes above was born 1918 so 7.6 gen would be early 1600's my guess.

Hello again Terrilynn,

The relationship finder gives a really distant MRCA, but this is because Len hasn't added all of his branches yet. Your MRCA would actually be Samuel Isaacs II. Len descends from that "other" Godfrey lol. If I'm looking at it right. I haven't helped him with that line in ages.

Always happy to find a cousin!

Mindy

P.S. I did ask mom about the mill but she doesn't recall anything right off hand.

I think of the Isaacs as a very successful tree. So many branches. I wish there was more on my maternal Ozmer folks! You wonder how a line just evaporates.

Thank you, Terrilynn! It's so wonderful to hear from you! Sorry for the delayed reply...I'm slowly but surely finding my way around here :-). I'm fascinated and excited by all that I've found so far. It's just really nice to finally connect with someone who descends from the same Isaacs line. I am very thankful that you reached out to me. I've hit a few brick walls in my research of Dad's lineage and would love to compare notes with you someday. I'm glad to hear that our Isaacs line is becoming more active, too! Well, I better stop here before I write you an e-novel. I can't wait to learn more about our Isaacs line and look forward to speaking with you more. I hope to contribute more to my family tree as time permits. Thank you! :-) Sending you wishes for a lovely day. Kind Regards, Lea

HI Terrilynn,

Thanks for completing the merge for Keziah Johnson Isaacs! Appreciate all your research and hard work in compiling her family information.

Connie

Hi Terrilynn

You are quite right about different spellings of names. And it is up to the Profile Managers as to which spelling they wish to have on the merged profile. The correct spelling is of course how the name is on the birth certificate BUT this in most instances is not available. So it comes to your judgement and what is most likely to be generally accepted.

And all that is not much help - so my suggestion is to select the spelling you think is correct and make a note in the Biography about the different spellings.

Although it is said that once the merge is completed the LNAB can not be changed, and it does cause problems, but it is possible. And I would seek help and advice before making the change. I hope this helps and let me know if there is anything else. All the best Barry

The question of "properly" spelling a LNAB is discussed regularly in G2G; here is a recent comment that describes the situation with Lytz-7 and Litz-32 pretty well:

https://www.wikitree.com/g2g/591105/families-that-should-merged-last-name-spelled-differently?show=591123#c591123

I'm not related to this ancestor, just interested in families from the region. So I think you should make the best decision you can about your ancestor.

Happy Hunting!

Hello. Regarding the proposed match of Lytz-7 and Litz-32, I'd like to merge into the correct spelling of the Last Name at Birth. Do any of the family historians studying this line have a source for LNAB? If there is no source, is there a strong preference one way or the other?

Hi Terrilynn, I received your email, I tried to thank you, but Wiki kind of throws me off. I too have done a lot of work, I will look at your work. I have been in contact with a Daniel Meece from Sommerset, we have the same great, great, grandfather Henry Newton Meece, there is two, just like two Andrew Jacksons.

Hi, Terrilynn --

Regarding the merge of Kincaid-690 and Kincaid-632: The dates and locations are exact matches and both profiles are connected as a spouse for Isaacs-532.

The profile manager of Kincaid-690 is connected as the son of Kincaid-632, your version of this profile. Do you know him?

He hasn't approved the merge yet. If you can give your approval, I'd be happy to contact him to see if he's had a chance to look at it yet.

Thanks!

Julie

Terrilynn, thank you for contacting me. Unfortunately your Isaac Isaacs is not from my family line. All our Isaacs originated from Poland or Germany as the borders changed over time. Isaacs wife is the key person we have been looking for for over 20 years. There is no confirmed evidence of her in the UK and none so far in Poland. We know when Isaac came to England but are unsure if he was accompanied only by his young children or they came shortly afterwards if their mother had died. I guess we keep searching ...

My records about Windsor P. GRAHAM come from my late grandmother, who was in DAR and did much genealogy research on her ancestral lines and her husband's ancestral line that include Windsor. I do not have her papers readily available to give specifics. When I got back into genealogy myself I read that surnames should be in all capitals, to distinguish those from given names

About a merge between Isaacs-288 and Isaacs-830: someone needs to resolve whether the family name is Isaacs or Isaacks, needs to resolve father and grandfather, and whether Samuel (b 1685) was born in Wales or Scotland. Oh, and whether grandfather Ralphn (Ralph ?) came from Scotland, or Wales 15 years earlier. Needs a bit more research before a merge can happen!
