Biography

Samuel was born in 1825. He was the son of John Meadows and Elizabeth Wyant. He passed away in 1910. Enlisted 16 April 1862 and mustered in the same day to Company I, 36th Virginia Infantry. Away without leave 16 July 1862, on rolls 15 Feb. 1862, prisoner of war at the 3rd Battle of Winchester, 19 Sept. 1864, and arrived at Point Lookout, Maryland, 21 Sept. 1864. He was exchanged 15 March 1865, and then taken prisoner again at some point (Battle of Waynesboro?) and paroled 14 June 1865.
