Sandra graduated from United Community High School in 1961. She attended both the University of Iowa and Des Moines Area Community Colllege working toward an associate degree in Human Services. She worked at the Woodward State Hospital-School (now Woodward Resource Center) and retired in 2004 after being an Education Aide. Her husband, Robert, also retired from working at the Woodward Resource Center. They moved from Woodward, Iowa to Perry, Iowa in 2019.

Elizabeth (Hay) Semple was born in 1598. However, Augusta, Virginia was not visited by white people until 1716 & it was not colonized by white people until 1732. Therefore, it would have been impossible for Elizabeth (Hay) Semple , who was born in 1598, to have been born in Augusta, Virginia. She was born in Scotland.
