Biography

Hazel Rachel McNutt was born on 4 March 1892 in Gympie, Queensland, Australia, daughter of William McNutt (~1842–1919) and Ellen Matilda Clara Skyring (1859–1943).^[1]

Hazel and her sister Amy both married brothers from the Burcher family. Hazel married Edward and Amy married William Burcher. At 21, Hazel married Edward Rupert Burcher (27) (born on 4 October 1886 in Liverpool, New South Wales; son of William John Burcher and Eliza Harriett (Chidgey) Burcher) on 13 December 1913 in Mossgiel, New South Wales ^[2].

BURCHER—McNUTT.—On the 10th December, at "Irish Lords," Mossgiel, New South Wales (Rev. G. M. McDonald officiating), Rachael Hazel, the fifth daughter of William and Matilda McNutt (Gympie), to Edward Rupert, youngest son of William John Burcher, of Mossgiel.^[3]

• Cyril Wallace Burcher (1918–2016)
• Phyllis Amy Burcher (1921–1973)

Hazel died on 17 October 1978 in Kogarah, New South Wales, Australia, aged 86^[4]. She is commemorated at Northern Suburbs Memorial Gardens and Crematorium, North Ryde, Ryde City, New South Wales.^[5]
