Note NI102James McLaren: born 19th November 1876, married Jemima Raitt on 7th December 1898 at Arbroath. He was an engine driver and they had five children.

Peter: born during 1900, died of TB on 25th August 1925.

James M. was a merchant seaman, he jumped ship in Australia. James M married Olive A Howard (Harding?) in 1935 at Chatswood Reg. No 12376 and they had two daughters, Elizabeth and Barbara . In 1956 he was living at 2 Gregson Street, Glouster, NSW, and received £358.15.4 from the estate of his aunt Bella. James also known as Jim spent time in the UK while serving in the Australian Army, he was best man at the wedding of his cousin George McLaren in London in 1945.

John Mill Raitt McLaren: A member of the armed forces, he served with the British Army On The Rhine. At the time of his daughters wedding John was a marine engineer. In 1956, lived at 50 Cairnie Loan, Arbroath, and received goods and cash to the value of £358.15.4 from the estate of his aunt Bella. John married Jessie (Nettie) Mary Thomson on 31st December 1927 at Arbroath. John and Nettie had a daughter Phyllis June at 2.45pm on 13th October 1928 at 17, Jamieson Street, Arbroath. John registered the birth at Arbroath on 26th October 1928. There were two other children born after Phyllis, Alister and Alice Eleanor, both of who married with families.

Phyllis married on 22nd January 1949 at Central Dining Rooms Arbroath, to Richard John Roberts, formerly Ryezard Jan Morawice, age 23 years, bachelor and a cook in a hostel, his home address was given as Middleton Hall, Town Street, Leeds 10. Roberts father was Dominika Morawice an iron moulder and his mother Berty Morawice (Mazurkowa). Phyllis was a canvas weaver, a spinster, age 20, living at 50 Cairnie Loan, Arbroath. Witnesses were Sylvester Golom Cowski, Miners Hostel, Armadale and Constance Lackie, 92 Byron Crescent, Dundee. They later had two sons. Richard was a Polish serviceman and adopted the name of Roberts.

George McLaren: born 25th May 1913, at 62 Lochland Street, Arbroath. He worked in a munitions factory in England and was killed there in an explosion sometime in 1941. He was married with two children, Dorothy Doulton and James McLaren and they each received £178.78 from Bella's estate. In 1956 they both lived at 39, Godiva Street, Coventry.
