Harvey-4738 and McKinney-561 do not represent the same person because: One profile is current WikiTree member; the other is for a person born in 1910 who died in 1922
I'm trying to follow my paternal line. Both names I searched for my grandparents come back to your account. They lived in Grayson county Texas. Please teach out if this information matches your ancestors.
Cathy, I see that you just did the Pre-1700 Self-Certification. That's great! Is there a particular time period, location, or topic you're interested in? Maybe you have some historically-significant ancestors? Participation in a project is strongly encouraged for those wishing to edit Pre-1700 profiles. You appear to have several interests. Why don't you stop by the Project List (https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Projects to see how you can participate? Let me know if you need help with anything. We are glad to have you on board!
First, when you create a profile for a living person, make sure you click the privacy tab, check the red lock, then scroll down and save. WikiTree really cares about privacy.
Second, enter at least a death or birth date and place for each profile. If you don't know the exact date, estimate using the 'before' or 'after' option. When you search for duplicates, you'll understand why. Many in the past haven't done this which makes matching much more difficult.
Third, try to document and include the source where you found the document for each profile you create, especially when you get further back in time. That will keep your part of the tree accurate.
I would love to volunteer on WIKI Gen Site to aide in bringing forward free genealogy to everyone. I will be upload my tree and branches as soon as possible. It contains many names branching from the McKinney/Ayers & Mank/Crain/Dooley.
I have been doing research for 13 years. If I can be of assisstance to anyone for genealogy purposes, please let me know.
