Biography

Duncan McIntyre was born in the Colony of Victoria (1851-1900)

Duncan was born on 14 Aug 1859, in Branxholme, Victoria, Australia. He was the son of Angus McIntyre and Ann McGillivray. ^[1]

He married Francis Stella Kemp, daughter of John Kemp and Martha Jane Newland, on 17 Aug 1898 in Yeungroon, Victoria, Australia. ^[2]

He passed away on 5 Aug 1946, in Stawell, Victoria, Australia.

Obituary

Obituary in the "Stawell Times", 23 Aug 1946:
The death occurred at his residence, Upper Main Street, Stawell, recently, of Mr Duncan McIntyre, at the age of 86 years. He went to Stawell with his wife about 18 months ago to take up residence there, but a few days after his arrival he took seriously ill, and although he was lovingly cared for, he did not respond to treatment, and gradually becoming worse, died as stated. He was born at Branxholme and was a son of the late Angus and Ann McIntyre. He was engaged in farming in the Charlton district for many years, and then years ago came to reside at St Arnaud, and on his retirement went to Stawell to live privately. He was a fine citizen, says the "Stawell News", and was very well known and highly respected in the Charlton district. He was married at Yeungroon near Charlton to Miss Frances Kemp, who with a family of two sons and one daughter survives him.
