Served in the United States Navy from 1859 until 1868 receiving at that time an honorable discharge as quartermaster having served on eleven different ships

Enlisted in New Bedford for 3 years term: age 22, no occupation, living in Providence, dark hair, dark eyes, and ruddy complexion. 16 months Previous naval experience.
