Biography
Lieutenant Roy McFie was Killed in Action during World War II.
Roy was born in approximately 1919 to John Thompson McFie and Mary Violet Natalie Groom.
He was brought up on the family farm at "Lowlands" near Estcourt along with his three siblings.
Roy went straight from school into active service, a Lieutenant in tank corps. He served as a Private with the Royal Natal Carbineers. Service Number: 4258.
Tragically he was killed in action in The Seige of Tobruk, World War Two.
