The problem with the marriage record is that it occurred in 1832 and Jane is not listed in the 1850 Census. It seems the date is probably correct as the license number is 305, and in sequence with other licenses of that year.

Research Notes

Here is Jane Duncan, Grandmother to Nancy Duncan Lively. I am currently trying to find her parents. She is a mystery because I am not sure where she was born, when she was born or when she died.

I have a marriage record for her and Abraham Duncan in 1832. This assumes Abraham's first wife died before that time.

In 1850 there is no woman of the right age to be Jane. There is an unknown woman named Fanny, but she is listed as being only 25. This would have made her 7 years old at the time of the marriage.

In later census, a woman named Jane does appear with the family and the correct age is associated with her.

Also of interest is that in 1880 a new child, Abraham appears. Supposedly he was born in 1880 and it lists his mother as being born in North Carolina. This doesn't make sense. Nor does it make sense that Sylvester Duncan, who I think is the son of Jane, is shown as having his mother born in North Carolina. On this same census it shows Jane as being born in Illinois. This all could be due to a lazy census taker. My first guess is that Abraham is possibly the son of Sylvester and instead of being 20 is actually 2. Abraham is listed last in the census which is a weird place for him if he was the son of Jane.

I have started work on finding her parents and have attached her to the only McDonald's I could find in the area. They are too young to be her parents, but the route they have taken to Illinois mirrors Jane's route. Perhaps she is the sister of William. Also, I have found that some of the websites have incorrectly indexed the census records of St. Clair, Illinois as St. Clair, Missouri so searching for related family records is a bit hard.
