• Thomas died before his probate date of 29 oct 1823.

• Common date of death for Thomas's son, Thomas, is 1822, but Thomas was named in the will that was written in 1823.

• The oldest known child, Thomas, was born in 1883.

• Thomas's wife Lydia has a death record and a Find a Grave profile with an image of a headstone which indicate that she was 80 years old at the time of her death in 1828. This was not possible given the ages of her children. This researcher has applied an estimated birth year of 1760 for both Thomas and Lydia.

• For the year 1859 there is a record of a James McDaniels son of Thomas McDaniels who died in Rutland, Vermont. That person was born in Dutchess County, New York so not likely a relation. The FamilySearch tree for this McDaniels family appears to include him.
