Biography
Margaret McCord was born in about 1770, probably in Pennsylvania. She married Robert Foster in 1790 in Pennsylvania. Their first 2 children were born in Pennsylvania. In 1793, the family traveled down the Ohio River to northeastern Kentucky (Mason County) Three more children were born in Kentucky. In the fall of 1797, the family moved to Adams County, Ohio. Eight more children were born in Ohio for a total of 13 children: Thomas (1791-1825); John (1793-1883); Martha (1794-1830); Nancy Elizabeth (1795-1825); Alexander (1796-1880); James Stuart (1798-1880); Margaret (1799-1840); Samuel (1801-1852); Mary (1804-1873); Eleanor (1805-1899); Sarah Ann (1807-1879); Andrew (1809-1873); Robert, Jr, (1810-1849).
The family lived on a 110 acre farm near Cherry Fork, Wayne Township, Adams County, Ohio.
Margaret McCord Foster died June 1849. There was a cholera epedemic in Adams County during the summer of 1849. It's possible that Margaret, as well as her youngest son, who who also died June of 1849, were both victims of the epedemic. Margaret McCord Foster is buried in the original section of the Cherry Fork Cemetery in Adams County, Ohio. (Bio by Darlene Hightower posted on FindAGrave)[1]
