"Mrs. WR Canine died at her home 3 miles north of Waveland onSaturday last after a week's illness. The funeral was conducted on Mondayat 11 a.m. by Revs Oliphant and Cuppy, at Union Church. Mrs. Canine,whose maiden name was Margaret Ann McCord was born near Rockville, Nov28, 1826. She was married to WR Canine Oct 25, 1855, and for nearly 45years they have made their home at the old Canine homestead north oftown. To them were born 7 children 3 of whom Celia, Alice Deere andWilliam preceding her to the home beyond; while Charles, David, Wilsonand Bertha are left with the sorrow stricken husband to mourn the loss ofmother and wife. In 1867 she united with the Union Baptist Church nearWaveland, of which she remained a devout and constant member. She will begreatly missed by a wide circle of relatives and friends."
