Rex was born in 1924 in Kalkaska County, Michigan^[1].

Rex was the fourth and youngest child of Amos Hersey McCool (1888-1980) and Anna Barbara (Caldwell) McCool (1884-1948).

In the 1930 census Rex (age 5) was the son of Amos H McCool in Oliver Township, Kalkaska, Michigan, United States.^[2]

In the 1940 census Rex (age 15) was the single son of Amos H McCool in Oliver Township, Kalkaska, Michigan, United States.^[3]

His 1942 WWII Draft Registration^[1] states that he was 18yo, 5'5"", 125#, with blue eyes, brown hair, and a light complexion.

In the 1950 census Rex (age 26), Farmer, was the never married son of Amos E McCool in Oliver, Kalkaska, Michigan, United States.^[4]

Rex and his wife Lois Jean (Middaugh) McCool (1930-2019) married in the early 1950's.

• They would have two sons and a daughter.

Rex passed away on 12 Dec 2019 while visiting his daughter in New Orleans, Louisiana; he was 95.

DNA Testing

Rex took an AncestryDNA test and a Y-111 DNA test prior to his death. Due to many McMillan matches, the FTDNA MacMillan surname project paid for a Big Y-700 upgrade (with his family's permission). Results were returned in Feb 2021. His Y haplogroup is R-FGC11674. He matches to a distant McCool cousin, providing supporting evidence of no non-paternal events in recent generations.
