Biography

Mary Virginia Poston was born to Robert Washington and Sarah Katherine (Tumblin) McCarty on October 3, 1888 in Virginia. Sarah died when Mary was about 10 years old in 1898.^[1]

In about 1910, Thomas married Mary Virginia Mccarty as listed on Agnes Mary's marriage record.^[2]

Thomas and Mary were with his father in 1920 & 1930 in Mercer, Loudoun County, Virginia.^[3][4] By 1940 and after the death of Mary's father-in-law, Mary and her family were settled in Clarke County, Virginia.^[5]
