Biography

William was born in 1815. He was the son of Thomas McCallum and Janet Logan.

He married 22 Nov 1838 in Musquodoboit, Mary Dill. She was born ca 1820, daughter of George and Rosannah (Tucker) Dill. She died in 1896.

In 1838, William McCallum, farmer was residing in Truro Township, next to George Dill, total in family, 2.

In 1871, William, farmer, 55, Mary, 50, Feby [sic], 30, George, 23, William, 20, Harriet, 15, Henry, 14, Rosanna, 8 and Melville, 6 were residing in Truro.

In 1881, William, farmer, 65, Mary, 60, Phebe Ann, 40 and Melville, 16 were residing in Salmon River. Logan McCallum, 30 was residing next door

In 1891, William, 75, Mary, 70 and Melville, 25 were residing in Salmon River. Logan McCallum, 40 was residing next door.

In 1901, William L., retired, 85 was residing in Middle Stewiacke, Colchester Co. with his son Mel, farmer, 36. Rosa L., 39 is residing next door.

William L. died 2 Feb 1912 and is buried in Camden Cemetery, Colchester Co.

The Miller book says he had 5 sons, 8 dau
